Laura has been a mover and shaker since childhood.  After stints acting professionally in Madrid, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, she has returned to her true love - music.  She's an avid fiddle player and singer, and has lived and traveled throughout Europe and Asia with her fiddle on her back.  She has trained in stage acting at the London Dramatics Academy and jazz performance at the Modern Music School of Madrid, as well as studying fiddle with Alasdair Fraser and Laura Cortese.

Always in search of a good jam, through music she has found her perfect means to connect with others, and exchange culture and experience. She has been known to show up unannounced at pubs to play until the wee hours of the morning, and has biked miles to the windy Cliffs of Moher in Ireland with her fiddle just to play the tune named after them.

Her songwriting comes straight from the heart, grappling with the full spectrum of human experience and emotion, winding metaphors and imagery through an honest and raw lens. Her major influences include Gillian Welch, Ani Difranco, and Billie Holiday.

She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is actively touring with Late for the Train, an energetic bluegrass-folk band. The band released their debut album, Plant it or Build It in 2020, followed by The Flowers of Yesteryear in early 2024.

Late for the Train has performed across the western US, including at festivals as Kate Wolf Music Festival, Whale Rock Music Festival, Railroad Square Music Festival, Descend on Bend. Late for the Train recently made their international debut at the Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival in Ireland.

In addition to touring, Laura is passionate about community and learning, and in 2017, Laura & David co-founded and taught at first-ever EveryFolk music & skills camp that ran successfully for 3 years (it has not yet been revived post-pandemic but they plan to bring it back!) She has served as returning faculty at the Pacific Songwriting Camp in Cambria since 2018, has taught at the Occidental Center for the Arts World Music Day, and has enjoyed teaching marimba after school in the Petaluma County School District.

Discography of her original music includes:
